What is psychosomatic medicine?

Psychosomatic medicine is a distinct medical specialty in Germany — the doctor is a fully qualified specialist physician who has also completed psychotherapy training. It's the right fit when body and mind are entangled: stress, burnout, chronic pain, functional complaints, anxiety and depression with somatic symptoms.
The work is integrative and evidence-based. Where psychotherapy alone doesn't cover everything, this specialty adds medical evaluation, medication where useful, and coordination with your other doctors — from a single point of contact.
Billing & costs
Clear, transparent fees.
Services are billed under the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). GOÄ sets nationwide medical fees calculated by scope and complexity. You receive the invoice directly. With German private insurance (PKV) or Beihilfe you submit it for reimbursement per your policy.
